I’m Ali Chovanec!
Wife of one, stay-at-home mom of four, prolific crafter and DIY’er, former English teacher, allergic to housework, avid dreamer, depression & anxiety warrior, parent of a dyslexic child, passionate seeker of truth and authenticity, lover of theme parks and roller coasters, rheumatoid arthritis newbie, child of God, and a work in progress . . .
Do you feel like most other moms have it all together running smoothly with dinner in the crockpot, spotless floors with their kids sitting quietly reading or playing, and their “vision board” for their next DIY project hanging above their neatly organized home desk?
Meanwhile, you are curled up in your closet with the lights off and the door shut while the dust bunnies scamper across your floors and your “little blessings” run around calling out for you?
And that is why I started my blog, Dust Bunnies and Blessings. Sharing my “imperfectness” and sense of humor, I write about reframing your expectations of motherhood as well as encouraging you to face the struggles we encounter in our vocation of Christian motherhood with hope and a faith-filled expectation that God always has a treasure waiting for us on the other side of every challenge.
At Dust Bunnies & Blessings blog, you will also find practical tips and ideas to help in your Faith, Marriage, Parenting and keeping your “Mom Sanity.”
Here are some of my most popular posts!
I believe God has a purpose for everything in life and although we don’t always understand the Why’s we have to know that all of the What’s are meant to build our character and bring us closer to God.
The How’s of dealing with each challenge and/or trial in life all boils down to something very simple that we can all do—Prayer!
It is only in prayer that we can truly learn and gain the treasure God wants us to get out of our challenge. If we want to follow Jesus, He calls us to pick up our cross and follow Him!
That is why I created the Trial and Treasure Journal!
The truth is, I have no clue what the best thing for my life is. God does. I have to trust that He will always be by my side through it all and that there is a greater purpose.
“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
